Events
Here are some pretty major shelter events happening in the South East Houston area over the next month or so. They are organized by WEBSTER ANIMAL SHELTER, BAYOU ANIMAL SERVICES and LEAGUE CITY ANIMAL SHELTER.
These events occur weekly through the LEAGUE CITY ANIMAL SHELTER.
This year's Paws & Claws Adopt-a-thon was held at Hometown Heroes Park. There were several shelters participating as well as many vendors.

Between the Clear the Shelters Campaign a few weeks ago and the Adopt-a-thon, a LOT of awesome cats and dogs have found homes. That's what it's all about!
Some volunteers from The Boeing Group came to the League City Animal Shelter this past Saturday and provided a Spa Day for our doggies. They did an awesome job in getting a lot of the dogs bathed. The heat was close to unbearable outside. Below are few shots that I was able to get.
I saw 311 (and The Green) for the first time on Friday night (7/31). The best, most exciting concert I've ever been to. We were about 3-5 rows (depending on the crowd movement) from the stage. It tested my "people proximity" phobia. I can say now that I might be able to survive a crowded elevator. 😉
We arrived fairly early to beat the crowd, so we started off with a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe. After that we were led to the Old No 7 Bar downstairs at Bayou Music Center for more drinks. After about an hour we were led onto the floor in front of the stage. It was kinda hard on my feet standing from about 7pm until well after 11pm, but it was worth it.
This is the second year in a row that I've done the Santa Hustle 5K with a group of friends. This year that group grew from three of us last year to over ten this year. I love being part of this group! They are encouraging and all-around great people. Camp Gladiator brought most of us together and I am grateful for CG and the friends I've made.
The Santa Hustle takes place in Galveston...starting on The Strand, traveling all the way to the sea wall and back. The Half Marathon goes further down the sea wall, but we all end up back on The Strand. Congratulations to my friends who completed the Half Marathon and the 5K.
