Today there was a baby raccoon trapped in one of the trees at work. He was quite the attraction for the IT Department. Luckily some brave co-workers got him out of the tree and into a paper box, then took him to a rescue center.

Took this right before the Sun came up. I think the colors and the reflections on the buildings makes it interesting.

The light was hitting so that parts of the tree was in shadow. I thought the leaves looked interesting with some lit and some not. Lost Maples State Park

Taken at the Houston Zoo as a part of their Photo Night event. I kinda like how the big cat's action made it look like he was defying gravity (a little anyway).

Taken at a co-worker's vacation spot on the Frio River. She was nice enough to invite us for the day so I could get some photos of this beautiful area. Thanks Lisa! Took 3 exposures and processed using PhotoMatix.

This has been a great week for me. Taking Tuesday-Thursday off from work to celebrate my 20 year wedding anniversary had a lot to do with that. Here's to another 20.

Took this at the Houston Zoo on Photo Night. The event was called "Dinner with the Carnivores" and was a really cool event. I took many shots, but this is the only one I've edited so far.

We are celebrating 20 years of marriage today by staying at the Hyatt Downtown tonight which is where we stayed 20 years ago. We have not been there since. Wonder how much has changed?

I was exploring the area where I grew up today (Huffman, Texas) and ran across this cool little church that I never knew existed. It is in an unincorporated community named Eastgate. When I was growing up, my high school was on Huffman-Eastgate road, but I never ventured to Eastgate, I guess. Took three exposures and processed with Photomatix Pro.

I used the ProHDR app to take this shot. It does two exposures and then merges them. IMO, it turned out pretty cool. :)

I met my photography group at Brazos Bend State Park early this morning. This guy stood still for a long time. I am not very good at wildlife, so he figured he would give me lots of tries. ;)

Tonight, I attended the Art Alliance Summer Open Door show at The Art Alliance of Clear Lake. There were several people from my Photography Group that had their work displayed. Congrats to them!

I went out after work on foot intending to take photos of a cool looking sunflower down the street, but either it was already closed or it died in the Houston heat. While I was walking back, I saw this Willow tree and the sun just peeking through. I set my camera to f/22 so I could get the sunburst effect on the sun shining through.

I took this a few weeks ago at Pilgrim Knights and Daughters Cemetery (along FM 1492 in Rosharon) with the intention of using it as my Memorial Day photo. I find it quite fitting as this is the day to remember the soldiers that gave their lives for our country. Happy Memorial Day!
