Photos
I have been driving by a big grouping of sunflowers down the street from my house for a couple of days. I finally grabbed my camera and walked to them and got some shots.

I had the opportunity to photography a friend's band today. Michael's Gate is a Christian/Blues/Rock band out of Katy, TX. I am still working through the photos, but needed one for my 365 project. The Sun was very harsh as the band went on at 1:00PM on one of the side stages at the South Texas Biker Jam and Expo. I am hoping to pull some good shots ... even with the harsh light.

I was (am) a huge Buffy The Vampire Slayer & Joss Whedon fan. After the 7 seasons came to an end, I pre-ordered and waited patiently for the first comic to be released. I have not bought any since, but this one stays encased in plastic and is kept in a display case. Yes, I am a geek. :)

Tonight, I attended a photography meeting at The Art Alliance Center At Clear Lake. While waiting on the meeting to begin, I wandered around looking at some of the art work. This particular display kept catching my eye.

Took this on my evening walk. We may have an artist among the kids in the neighborhood. Shot three exposures and processed them in Photomatix Pro.

Today we had a great time seeing the new POTC movie "On Stranger Tides" with my wonderful friend and her family. We had lunch at Red Robin where I spotted this nice arrangement of Purple Mums (at least I think that's what they are).

I had a pretty busy day today. First I participated and did the group photos for my company's 5k walk at Bear Creek Park and then attended my friend's kid's first swim meet of the year. Fun stuff!

The highlight of my Friday was attending Michael's (my best friend's little boy) End of Year ceremony. All the little ones were very cute, but I'm a little partial to this dino-lovin' kid. :)

I looked this flower up and from what I've read it looks to be a Giant Coneflower. Took this with my 100mm macro lens. I think these flowers have a really interesting look.

I noticed on the way into the office today that a carnival had been set up, so during lunch I went back and grabbed this shot of the Ferris wheel. Also grabbed a few more shots of other rides.

Came across this cool dragonfly. It was pretty active, so I'm glad I was able to get a semi-clear shot of it.

Saw this little place that rents canoes in Caddo Lake State Park (Map Location). Took 3 exposures and processed them with PhotoMatix. The sky is darker than I'd like, but I'm not sure how to handle that. Still a lot to learn :)

We went on a boat ride around Caddo Lake (Map Location). The guide called this "The Government Ditch". It is evidently the most photographed part of Caddo Lake, so here is another shot of it - LOL! Historically, it was dredged upstream toward Jefferson so that cotton could be shipped from Texas to New Orleans on the Red River.

I woke up in time for sunrise this morning on Caddo Lake (Map Location). I was lucky enough to catch something jump in the water. This is SOOC since I have limited editing tools on the road.

We saw a ton of these on the side of the road on our way to Caddo Lake (Map Location). Since we are spending a couple of days on the lake I have nothing to edit my shots, so this is SOOC. The only thing done is a conversion from RAW to JPG.

This is an acrylic cube with an engraving of the NYC skyline - pre 911. I thought I would put it on my light box to see what kind of effect it put on it. I also used Color Efex Pro to add the dual color effect.
