One of my shelter volunteer friends contacted me wanting to do a photo session for her, her kids and gran baby. The day after Christmas was gorgeous and so was this family!

I am Rhonda Tipton and I am a photographer residing in the Houston area. My work includes a wide range of subjects such as portraiture, events and fine art; however, I feel my purpose on this Earth is to tell the stories of those without a voice through my pet, animal shelter and rescue photography.

I always enjoy taking photos of this family each year. I feel honored to be able to provide this family tradition for them.

My Heart's Work - 12/2019

January 17, 2020 in Animal-Shelter, Animal-Welfare

I started taking photos of shelter animals in April of 2013 and have been pretty consistent with it through the years. I started with the League City Animal Shelter now League City Pets Alive…added the Webster Animal Shelter in June of 2014…Nassau Bay in May of 2015…Bayou Animal Services in October of 2015…Bay Area Pet Adoptions in December of 2016. There were also a couple of rescues added to my list in 2019. They were Ranger’s Reach and Albert’s Dog Lounge.

“My fashion philosophy is, if you’re not covered in dog hair, your life is empty. ”

Below is a collage I created of all the shelter babies I photo’d last month for the above mentioned shelters. Each and every one of these babies are so deserving of better … more love, more understanding. Hopefully by the time I make this post each month most, if not all, are in loving homes. That is my hope.

Had an amazing time photographing this couple before their new addition made her appearance. It was about four days later that Layla Grace made her grand entrance.
