Letting the Shelter Animals Shine

I’m a firm believer of getting the shelter dogs out of their confinement and capturing their true spirit. You can’t rightfully judge an animal for their behavior in a kennel. You have to get them away from the noise of the other dogs and bond with them. You will be amazed at the difference in their behavior.

I have displayed a few examples below.

While intake photos are needed and get the sympathetic “Awwww, poor baby” response from the public, I believe photos of the animal outside the kennel environment draws more attention and ultimately results in an adoption in a lot of cases.

My work includes a wide range of subjects such as portraiture, events and fine art; however, I feel my purpose on this Earth is to tell the stories of those without a voice through my pet, animal shelter and rescue photography.

Some Google Search Tips

I've compiled a few cool things you can do on Google Search. I know there are so many more things that can be done, but the ones below I can actually see myself using. Without further ado...some neat Google tips.

1. Use * as a place holder...or wildcard

2. Quickly calculate a tip

3. Search for a given word on a website

4. Look for attractions in a city

5. Easily convert from one unit of measurement to another

6. Check weather quickly for a certain city location

7. Look for something "near" your current location

Happy googling!

Family Session | The Philpot Family

Date: 11/29/16 | Location: Eagle Springs - Humble, TX

This session was originally scheduled for the previous day, but the threat of rain and major wind made it necessary to postpone one day. This mother and daughter were so delightful to work with. I truly believe I was able to capture their personality well and I am grateful to have met them both.

Shelter Photo Summary - Week of December 5 2016

League City and Nassau Bay this week. The weather has definitely been a roller coaster. Temps were around 65 when I was at LC on Tuesday, but 45 and windy on Thursday morning at Nassau Bay.  Both shelters have so many beautiful babies up for adoption.

Adopt don't shop...give a shelter animal a chance. Below are the wonderful babies from this week. They are in no certain order and the shelter is noted on the photo itself.

It was a lovely day at the park with this great family. It was a little warm for this time of year, but I believe we got some great shots.
